Lockdown

I’ve been on lockdown for about four or five days now. To be honest, it’s not that bad. The only part I don’t like is not being able to see my girlfriend freely, and maybe being around my family a little too much. Guess at a time like this, it’s good being a homebody. My parents are scared, for good reason, since they’re apart of the older demographic. Time has shown though that not every older person is automatically sentenced to death, as well as not every young person is guaranteed to live. There’s too much of misinformation because a lot of people just want an answer, forcing the medical professionals and government to give one without that much merit.

Whenever we do go out, we wear masks and take hand sanitizer with us. Weirdly enough, at first people who wore masks were seen as overreacting. Even someone like me who has no knowledge in that field knew that masks would help. It stops germs from getting to your face. It’s just common sense, and for whatever reason, we were initially told in the beginning that masks were pointless. Now the CDC came out a few days saying to wear masks if we have them. It’s simply just idiotic, unless we were given false information from the start so that hospitals could have a chance to stockpile on supplies. It would make sense, however the way the situation has been getting approached is somehow always from the wrong angle.

I barely leave my house, it’s really only for food, or if my girlfriend has convinced me to stop by her place for a bit. I don’t go out during nighttime since that’s when all the people violating the lockdown order, are probably getting pulled over and fined. I was unemployed when this all started so I never even had a chance to qualify for a essential workers slip. Finding a job now has only gotten harder, in terms finding places that are hiring, that are also not a high risk for potentially getting infected. The impact of the Coronavirus will not subside even when we find a cure. Were on our way to an economic collapse if businesses don’t wise up and adjust to a Work From Home conditions.

Being on lockdown has obviously given me a lot of time to think about things like this. A drastic solution could be that everyone stop charging each other. That means landlords don’t charge tenants, banks don’t ask for loan/mortgage payments, businesses don’t pay for staying open, no one gets charged for power usage, etc. If no one, and I mean literally no one, had to pay for anything, or get charged for anything, people would be calmer. Now, that being said, I know that will never happen. For that to happen, the whole world would have to be on the same page and that’s never going to happen.

I don’t really have much else to say since i’ve just been home pretty much. It’s a scary time that is only going to get worse before it gets better. Just look at Ecuador right now. There are dead bodies piling up on the streets and the smells are getting bad. Family members are dying in their homes, and the ones that are alive deal leave the dead family in the home because even just burying someone right now isn’t an easy process. It’s either leave the body where it is, or throw them out to the street, letting the dogs and rats to eat them.

If we only just stop being selfish as a whole, it would be easier on everyone. However, again, I don’t see that happening.

Stay safe, and have a good one.
