A Letter At A Time 2.0 - Update #1, November 20th, 2019

Finally fulfilled the cliche of a writer with has laptop at a Starbucks

This is my new website. I know i’m missing the other updates that i’ve been doing for the last few months. I can bring them back if you all would like. For now, i’ll be leaving it as it is since in a way, with this new revamp of my website, i’ll keep the content new.

Things got removed and others added. I’m cold emailing again so maybe i’ll be landing a writing sooner rather than later. I revamped my LinkedIn so that it is more marketable. I’ve applied to jobs outside of writing so I can support myself until i make a living wage from writing.

I still unfortunately have decided on a niche so I know that will work against me. Until than I won’t have a choice and have to make samples in multiple topics and get knowledgeable on those topics until I decide to pursue a single one. It will be a lot of extra work, however if this was easy, anyone would do it.

Who wouldn’t want to work from the comfort of their own home, or travel full time while still getting paid, etc. Writing gives a lot of freedoms to those that are making a living out of this. You just gotta stick with it.

I’m also thinking of doing two separate blogs. One documenting me trying to be a freelance writer, and another just about life, world views, broader perspectives and things of that nature. So keep an eye for a new page being added to my website. I would still do weekly updates for this, however I would also do the new blog as well. Maybe that new page can the Write With Me page i had. Except rather than limiting it to stories and poems, its all of us having a conversation together.

I’m really liking the sound of that as I’m writing it.

On top of all this, I will getting more familiar with SEO, marketing, and things like that so I can potentially pull in more work. Theoretically, with the new samples, marketing, cold emailing and more professionally website, I should get a client relatively soon.

Once that happens, I’ll get more merit to my name and get that push to get the ball rolling.
